Ice Air Introduces New iCool XC Type C, Expanding the iCool XC Product Line with a New Wall Mounted Form Factor for Cold Climate ElectrificationNew system delivers reliable heating performance in outdoor temperatures below 0°F while giving designers greater flexibility for multifamily and hospitality projects

Mount Vernon, N.Y. — July 7, 2026Ice Air, a leader in all-in-one heat pump solutions for multifamily, hospitality, university, and mixed-use developments, today announced the launch of the iCool XC Type C, a new form factor within the company’s iCool XC product line designed to help buildings electrify heating and cooling without sacrificing performance in colder climates.

Designed to be wall mounted with an available outside air option, iCool XC Type C is engineered to deliver reliable heating performance when outdoor temperatures fall below 0°F. This latest addition expands the flexibility of the iCool XC platform with a new configuration optimized for projects with unique space, design, and installation constraints.

As building owners, architects, and engineers face increasing pressure to reduce emissions, eliminate fossil fuel dependence, and comply with evolving energy regulations, the need for cold-climate heat pump solutions that work in real-world conditions has become increasingly critical. The iCool XC Type C was developed specifically to address those challenges.

“The iCool XC Type C gives the market another option within the iCool XC family for projects that require high-performance heating in extreme winter conditions,” said Ric Nadel, CEO of Ice Air. “By expanding the product line with an additional form factor, we’re giving design teams more flexibility to electrify buildings without compromising comfort, reliability, or usable space.”

Key benefits of the iCool XC Type C include:

  • Reliable heating performance in sub-zero outdoor temperatures
  • New form factor flexibility for retrofit and new construction applications
  • High-efficiency electric heating and cooling in a compact footprint
  • Reduced reliance on centralized boiler infrastructure
  • Support for building electrification and decarbonization initiatives

The introduction of the iCool XC Type C continues Ice Air’s broader strategy of delivering practical electrification solutions for buildings facing real-world mechanical, architectural, and regulatory constraints.
