Ice Air was among the 45 exhibitors at this year’s NY-GEO’s first Downstate, 2-day conference drew 550 attendees from 20 states and 10 countries. The company featured their highly sought after Vertical Stack Geothermal WSHP which is a versatile geothermal heat pump that’s available in a range of sizes and configurations for convenient installation. It especially fits Local Law 97 objectives driving New York’s construction work.
“The low electricity demand of Ice Air’s VSHPGE-Series geothermal water source heat pumps can yield substantial energy savings over time while satisfying New York City’s Local Law 97 and other similar laws around the United States,” says Tom Glass, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ice Air. “These energy savings are also a key consideration for helping projects comply with green building rating systems such as LEED®.”
Ice Air was also awarded a federal grant earlier this year to build new manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, SC to increase domestic production of Cold Climate Heat and Geothermal Heat Pumps.
The New York Geothermal Energy Organization (NY-GEO) is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to advancing the geothermal heat pump industry across New York State. Founded in 2014, NY-GEO brings together manufacturers, installers, engineers, policy makers, and advocates to promote renewable heating and cooling as a key solution for building decarbonization. The organization hosts annual conferences, offers training and certification opportunities, and actively engages in public policy to support the adoption of ground-source heat pump systems. With a strong focus on equity, efficiency, and climate goals, NY-GEO plays a leading role in helping New York transition away from fossil fuels in buildings.
