Project Description
The Lionheart marks a vital addition to New York City’s transitional housing landscape, delivering 88 thoughtfully designed affordable rental units in the heart of Rego Park, Queens. Developed by Slate Property Group and designed by Aufgang Architects, the eight-story building reflects a deep commitment to creating dignified, accessible, and community-focused housing solutions. The structure rises 83 feet and spans over 57,000 square feet, with an average unit size of 798 square feet, well above the norm for affordable housing developments in the area.
With an emphasis on inclusivity and long-term support, The Lionheart designates a portion of its residences for individuals with mobility, hearing, and visual impairments. In addition to the residential offering, the building incorporates a 591-square-foot community daycare center, offering a vital service to residents and neighbors alike.
