Mount Vernon, NY — Ice Air, LLC, a Mount Vernon–based manufacturer of HVAC solutions, has made a $5,000 donation to the Fire Disaster Relief Fund to support families affected by the five-alarm apartment fire that occurred in Mount Vernon on November 23, 2025. The donation was presented to Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard.
“Nothing is more devastating than a fire,” said Tom Glass, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ice Air. “This tragedy hits close to home, as Ice Air is headquartered here in Mount Vernon, and we wanted to show our support immediately during a very difficult time for our community.”
Ice Air brings its leadership in HVAC technology to communities and organizations with a commitment to responsible innovation, creativity, and service. “While our core business is manufacturing advanced HVAC systems, our responsibilities extend beyond our products,” Glass added. “We believe strongly in education, opportunity, and responding when emergencies strike. These commitments are reflected in our Ice Air Cares initiative and guide how we show up for our community.”
Governor Kathy Hochul also announced state support for those impacted, securing a Physical Disaster Declaration from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for Westchester County and the contiguous counties of Putnam, Rockland, and the Bronx. A federal review found that 88 apartments sustained damage totaling more than $1.8 million as a result of the fire.
Mayor Patterson-Howard said, “My heart is with the 102 families who lost their homes in the five-alarm fire this past November. I want to thank Ice Air and all the donors for their commitment to providing critical relief as Mount Vernon residents work to rebuild their lives.”
