On the evening of April 14, 2026, USL League One side Westchester SC welcomed Major League Soccer’s New York City FC to The Stadium at Memorial Field in Mt. Vernon for a Round of 32 match in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with Ice Air serving a Matchday Presenting Sponsor.
The match drew a sellout crowd of 5,145 fans, a record for a soccer match in Westchester County and a testament to the growing momentum behind professional soccer in the region. For Ice Air, a company deeply rooted in the New York metro area, the evening was a natural fit and a great opportunity to bring customers and partners together for a memorable night of live sport in Ice Air’s own backyard.
Ice Air hosted guests in a dedicated VIP space, with customers from across the region joining members of the Ice Air team for an evening that was equal parts hospitality and history. The atmosphere at Memorial Field was electric from opening kickoff, with fans filling the stands for what turned out to be one of the most significant soccer events the county has seen.
Match Recap
On the pitch, NYCFC proved too strong for their USL League One hosts, taking a 5-2 victory on the strength of a hat trick from Talles Magno and an early goal from Agustín Ojeda. Westchester SC got goals from Daniel Burko and Kyle Evans, and showed well against a club that competes at the highest level of American soccer. WSC now returns to USL League One play, where they continue to build on what has become a notable first chapter in the club’s history.
For the second consecutive season, Ice Air is proud to be a partner of Westchester SC and to support the team as it puts professional soccer on the map in one of New York’s most vibrant counties. Nights like this one which featured a sellout crowd, a nationally significant competition, and a community fully engaged, are exactly why that partnership matters.
